1. What are karyotypes?

1. Structural karyotype

The karyotype in peripheral blood is a genetic test that allows the chromosomes to be analyzed and to identify alterations in their number or structure. It is made from a blood sample, in a manner similar to conventional analytics.

2. Molecular karyotype

Array-CGH (Comparative Genomic Hybridization) is a diagnostic genomic technique used as a test of first choice in various pathologies of genetic origin. The array-CGH allows to analyze, in a single test, the entire genome of an individual in search of alterations due to the gain or loss of genetic material
